Launches premier mapping service to third parties
192.com has made the UK's most advanced online mapping tool available to third party websites. 192.com Maps will now help even more Internet users find people, businesses and places across the UK.
192.com Maps includes interactive flash functionality with 28 per cent more labelled streets and more aerial photography than any other provider, offering users a better experience whether for retail, travel, property or any company website.
With over 10 years experience in the field, Mark Taylor, business development manager for 192.com Maps, is driving this initiative to meet the demand for improved mapping services. "Maps are the part of a company's website that provides an important step in converting an on-line visitor into a real world customer, but it often goes neglected," he said.
"There is big demand from new media agencies to offer these services to their clients and the flash technology will allow them to do that quickly and easily," continued Taylor. "We want to encourage companies to bring their maps in line with the quality of the rest of their website. With us, they'll have the added benefit of being able to link to 192.com's extensive local search capabilities too, such as highlighting local banks and restaurants on the map."
"What's really exciting is that we're currently in a short period in which a wide range of our Map product portfolio will be launched" Taylor explained. "In just under a fortnight, we'll also have improved 25cm resolution imagery with significantly more coverage than other mapping sites such as Google."
Taylor continued: "Because our mapping is based on flash technology it's easy for customers to customise it, adding text, images, animations and sounds to maps or highlighting other important aspects of their business to really bring the maps alive."
