Admissions for pupils (starting September 2017)
The following factors will be used to decide who gets a place at the school if it is oversubscribed (note that the list is not in priority order):
- whether the child meets various faith related criteria. The faith criteria are not as strict as in some schools. Priority will be given to children from families who can demonstrate committment to their faith, but places are also likely to be available to at least some children because of where they live rather than their religious beliefs. However, the school also offers 66 places on an open basis, i.e. to be allocated on a non-faith basis. These are usually referred to as either community or open places, and are generally allocated according to geographic criteria. For example, by giving priority to those living closer to the school. We recommend you contact the school directly for more information about admission to this school.
- whether the child lives within a particular predefined geographic area, i.e. the school's catchment area. Since this is a faith school, its catchment area is likely to be an ecclesiastical (i.e. church) parish. Also note that catchment priority might only be given to applicants who meet both faith requirements and live in the relevant area. Please check the full admission criteria carefully.
- whether the child has a sibling attending the school.
Please also note that all schools are required to admit children with a statement of special needs before any other applicant, and must also give priority to children who are, or have been, in care.
