Broke my watch, tried to charge me for the privilege, and then called me stupid to my face. Worst customer service i have ever received in my entire life.
Subject: I paid for nothing. My advice is: be cleverer than me and don't take your watch to "Mr Craftsman"
I brought my watch because it needed repairing, it would stop and start for no reason. I informed the man it wasn't a problem with the battery that I had just had replaced.
The man started by... Read more saying that he thought it was a wind up clock. I repeated that it had a battery that I had replaced anyway. I don't know much about watch, but I do know that if it says Quartz on it, it is battery operated.
I guess I should not have left my watch with someone who doesn't know anything or doesn't listen but he said he would send it out to a repairman and call me back so I thought I could trust the other "expert" who would look into it. Two weeks later, I had received no news so I called back. The man said he had replaced the battery himself and it was now working fine.
I argued that it wasn't the problem. He insisted the watch was working again. He made me pay £25 and lo and behold, 6 hours later, the watch stopped working.
I came back to complain, he said that he could send it to the repairman this time and deduct the £25 from the repair cost. I agreed to it (maybe another mistake but I wanted to trust him). Two weeks later he called me saying it would cost £100 (£125 minus £25 I had already paid).
I said no thanks and took it to another repairman who repaired it for £60. Show less
DO NOT use this business for passport photographs as they get rejected by the passport office. I recently tried to get a refund for badly taken passport photographs, but was point blank refused and asked to provide proof that these had been rejected. I did not receive any forms from the passport... Read more office at the time and told that a refund could only be offered if i could prove why they had been rejected. The photos were quite clearly dark and had a huge shadow cast underneath my chin, which i pointed out to 'mr craftsman' however this was not proof enough. I often used this business for photographs, so i said that i probably would not return again and this was met by referring to me as threatening!! I was not at all threatening, just a girl asking for her money to be refunded due to poor quality. I feel hugely insulted by this extremely rude man and have never really received such bad customer service. When i did go back to collect my passport i asked the 'very polite' lady at the desk if there was a form she could give me to show why the photographs were rejected and in fact there is no such form. I think mr craftsman needs to value his customers a little more and perhaps reconsider appropriate manners of talking to customers. I will not be using this business again and i will also be making sure none of my colleagues at an extremely large company next door, that often use this service, do either. I am not shocked at all that some else on here felt the need to post on here, this isn't something i usually do, however mr craftsman needs to know this is not the way you run a successful business!
